Hi all.. Astrological aspects for the coming week..and there are some big ones.. (Don’t forget new moon on 13th oct in Libra). Libra is also where Mercury has been retrograding ..and is just about to go direct this afternoon..(few hours from now).

Ganesh in the river – Hindu Ceremony in London

Dear all, I am organising this ritual tomorrow in Richmond..  Details below..  All welcome.. No prior knowledge of Rituals or Hindu ceremony / magic required as I will give a full explanation .. Best wishes & Blessings.  Mani


Ganesh Chathurthi is a special festival that honors the birth of the Hindu elephant-headed god, Lord Ganesha (Ganapathy, Vinayagar). He is said to remove obstacles and bring good fortune.

Ganesh in river Thames – Hindu Magic ceremony in London

This year, the festival begins on 17th September and culminates on Sunday 27th Sept, which seems ideal for us to meet for our own outdoor special event.

I had previously witnessed participated in `Durga in the water’ event in London (Putney) over a decade ago, and was inspired to start river Thames-based seasonal rituals (Tamesa London Circles). Those then evolved into Thames-Isis rituals (and still continue.. ).

However it’s been a long term wish to return to the the roots…and do a Hindu ceremony.. so here we are! :-) For this ceremony of `Ganesh in Water’, I will be creating a new Ganesh sculpture out of Willow tree branches & bio-degradable strings..

It (he) will then be used in our special water-side ceremony by the river Thames. It will take place in a `clean/ clear’ section of the river Thames (Richmond area).

I will begin making a Ganesh figure tomorrow morning and will bring the figure (probably 1′ x 1′ x 1′ – bulky to carry).

On the day, `he’ will be placed on the altar..and we can all add items, leaves, twigs and other bio-degradable decorations.. while Chanting & prayers take place.

Then we will place Ganesh in the Thames and send him on his way.. :-)

A Lammas / Hanged-Man meditation

The following guided Meditation was written by me, for use in an Open Lammas ritual in London (for Pagan Federation London seasonal event ..on 30July’15).      I decided to share it here for the benefit of others. The art work herein was done specially for this.

“In myth & legends, the concept of personal sacrifice occurs again and again.   It is often coupled with some quest and a reward to gain something important. Here are some examples:

-The Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who was crucified,  was to remove the sins of the people.

-The Sacrifice of Odin / the God who hung upon the World Tree –  was to gain the secrets and mysteries of the Runes.

-The sacrifice of the Corn King / Barley Corn is for harvest and to renew the energies of the land.

-And on the darker side, Hern sacrificed himself on a Windsor Oak tree, for vengeance and Justice.

Now think about your own lives.  Think about your own struggles and challenges and quests, and the sacrifices you keep making..over and over.. again and again..  day after day…  months..and months..year after year.

Q:  Take a moment to think about these personal sacrifices..   The Card you picked at the start may offer some divinatory focus.

Q:  Have they produced the rewards? Have you got the results you were seeking?   If not, why not?

Q:   Sometimes, more often, in order for magic to happen, you must do the  spell and then let go..  totally let go…

Close your eyes now..and  imagine yourself as the being that is hanging by the feet upon the World Odin and the Hanged Man.  You dangle above the Earth..  neither rising, nor falling..  between worlds..  and not part of the world.  You have hung long enough.  You have suffered long enough.  It is time to drop back into the world and be part of it, so that your magic can materialise in your life!

Get ready to count from 10…down to 1.  On the count of 1, you are going to let go, and drop..and glide back to the Earth.

10.. 9..8.. 7.. 6.. 5..4..3..2..

1-   drop!”

Our Womb Worlds & Lammas sacrifices..!

Womb worlds & Lammas sacrificesLammas…time of willing sacrifices.. for better quests! So, here’s a disturbing thought – will you survive without facebook/twitter/ instagram and all the other online worlds?

How much has it taken root and changed (trapped) your every day life? Do you have a fulfilling life outside it..or even when you are off-line, do you think in terms of updating your status, posting, sharing with others..?

We now have to fight this fallacy that `if we are not on online worlds, then we don’t matter, or that we are missing the best slice of bread life has to offer..’

It’s what the Transpersonal psychologists call `womb-world’ – being stuck in a place that initially provides us with protection, sustenance and warmth. Clubs, societies, communities, religious sects & cults…are all `womb-worlds’ of differing scales and magnitudes.. So is an alliance to a Nation or a flag!

There comes a time we have to get out..or be pushed out.. and be born painful as that process of birth is.. into the real world.. into light!!

Have a think.. and make the right changes & sacrifices for Lammas!

Birth of Goddess Isis: Night of the Cradle Ritual in London (July 2015)

It pleases me to announce our 3rd annual Celebration of The Night of the Cradle.   The `Birth of Goddess Isis’ ceremony  will take place on the New Moon (in watery sign of Cancer) on Thursday 16thJuly 2015. We gather by the banks of river Thames  for a special Ceremony in the evening…to mark the Night of the Cradle’ where Sky Goddess Nut gave birth to the Egyptian Goddess Isis.

Date: Thursday 16th July 2015 .
Venue & time: Richmond (riverside) by the riverside passage/gate to Terrace Gardens (looks like a cave!).

Meet at Richmond station by 6.30pm and walk with me to the ritual spot (20 mins).  I will be prompt, and this `walking together’ is a symbolic and informal `procession’ part of the ceremony!

Or follow the google map and arrive at the ritual spot (Terrace Gardens area..but by the river) at 7pm onwards.

As this is a `Night of the Cradle- Birth of Isis’ , we are starting this ceremony later in the evening, so that we may perform the rite after sunset..(night). We’ll be using the `cave-like’ space by the riverside.. and will fix `stars’ on the ceilings .. to recreate a `body of the Sky Goddess Nuit’ (mother of Isis).

The ceremony itself is expected to be 30mins ..and then we’ll continue socials/ feasting.. (It’s a birthday party, after all). :-) So be sure to bring plenty of Wine & cakes.

Ceremony outline (subject to  changes) —————–

A decorative altar with Sky Goddess Nut and a concealed statue of Isis will be set up.

Element consecrations (incense, lantern, salt/water).

Isis called by her many names! This will be a chant led by Organisers.

Goddess Isis (statue) is revealed.

Milk & flower Ceremony – all bath statue in milk, followed by offering of flowers. These are then offered to the river Thames.

Food & drinks blessed and shared.

Birthday Party !! (Birthday of Isis).

What to bring:
Food & drinks to share.

Privacy/Photos :
As it is a public place, passers-by may take photos or watch. That is accepted by the organisers, in the spirit of celebrating the Birthday of Isis :-)

We ask all to be in good public behaviour.

Break out your broomsticks, don your floral crowns, hold the heathen hammer high and bang your drums proudly – because we’re taking to the streets to fly the Pagan flag and celebrate the freedom of our faiths.

Drummers, Banners Holders, Parade Giants, Fairies, Floats and Pagans of all stripes, join us for a day of fun and festivities.

We’ll be gathering in Russell Square and then marching our parade through the streets, before returning back to Russell Square for a communal picnic and frivolity.

Gather at Russell Square from 11.30am for the start of the parade at 12 midday.

This event is FREE!

Bring your own food and drink for the picnic or get your food on the day from the Russell Square cafe.

Russell Square is in the heart of Bloomsbury, close to the British Museum. It has a central plaza and water feature, which has become a popular place for Pagans to dance and make merry, year after year.
There is a cafe which is open all year round and expansive lawns and vibrant floral displays.

`Why do you come? To kill the King. Why? His blood feeds the land! ‘ And so begins many a traditional ceremony for Lammas.

The Hanged Man of Tarot – Odin’s sacrifice, the cutting down of Corn King, and the ritual suicide of Hern the Hunter all get played out one way or another in our lives. Join Hern’s Tribe on the eve of a Blue Moon, for resolving these painful cycles, and come together for a joyous celebration of Lammas – time of great Harvest and for reaping the rewards of your hard work. Bring your masks & drums and join in this tribal jollities.

Hern’s Tribe has facilitated several Open rituals for PF London in the past (between 2005- 2012). And we are thrilled to have been invited by PF London to facilitate this ritual. It’s a welcome return after a 3 year gap.

Venue: Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, Holborn, London.

Entry fee: £5 (for PF members & concessions), £6 for all others.

Time: 7:30 – 10:00 PM Arrive from 7.30 pm for pre-ritual socialising in the foyer. Ritual starts at 8 pm and usually concludes before 9 pm. Feasting and socialising follow the ritual until 10 pm.


Please do not arrive before 7:30 PM. If you are early, please utilise one of the nearby pubs, cafes or gardens to sit and socialise in.

Please switch off mobile phones before going into the ritual.

No photographs or video are allowed during the ritual.

Please bring a little food & drink to share during the feast after the ritual.
