My first 2 Books on Amazon Kindle

Gives me great thrill to say this- 2 of my books are now on Amazon Kindle :-)

Although one was published by pdf/ website in May’12, this is a bigger thrill, but I feel less of a fuss so far (probably because am putting finishing touches to 3 more..that will be uploaded within a  week or two – and am holding back on the celebrations!)

It’s not what it seems..   I started working on some of these last year (November’11)..and yet before I could finish one, I was inspired to work on the next…(ah, the Creator’s curse…too many ideas, as opposed to the Writer’s block..  which is no progress..and I’ve been in that forest for over 15-20 years).

So, here are the 2 that have come out already…awaiting full `launch publicity’

Rahu & Ketu – The serpent demons who swallowed the Sun and Moon (Eclipses).

Rahu & Ketu swallow the Sun & Moon and cause the Eclipses, according to hindu myths. They represent the north & south nodes, and are given `planets’ designation in vedic astrology.

Rahu & Ketu  are – according to Hindu mythologies – the  serpent demons who swallow the Sun and Moon! This occurrence is of course a Solar Eclipse or a Lunar Eclipse (`Sooriya Grahanam’  and `Chandra Grahanam’  in Tamil language).

These demons – one with a human head and snake tail, and the other with a snake head and human body – were not always 2 separate beings!  In fact they were one demon (Asuran).

What’ s the story?  Why did they split?  And why do they taunt the Sun and Moon ?

I’ll have to write it later.

How I made the video: `Solar Eclipse 2012 – StarGate opening’

One of the key magical works that I have been doing personally and developing over the last decade…is working with cosmic portals & gateways.. Well, that’;s what I have been calling it ..until now.. the concepts and imagery for these portals have been quite abstract and intuitive in my mind- psyche. It is only when it comes to writing about it, and teaching it to others that made me think `how can I put this in a better way’? And suddenly I saw a photo of an annular eclipse, and the writing was literally in the Stars. So this video was made to `show ow people exactly what the Star Gate in eclipse magic looks like :-)

By the way, the `sound track’ for this was entirely created by me..   It’s actually a bit of drumming and a set of small bells. I fed that through a music editing software, adding echo, time-stretch, flanger etc..   and kept  treating it..till it sounded like this.    I was going for some sort of space- eerie music with a twinge of horns or a a `giant’ feel..

Ps. It will be great to hear views from other people who make videos / edit / do graphics / mix sound etc. All graphics used here was done by me.. (for animations, I was feeding frames into windows movie maker..  :-)

Normally we – here on planet Earth-  live through the influences of Solar and Lunar Eclipses, and don’t even realise we are getting buffeted about in the weeks and months that follow. The effects are chaotic and do affect us over 4-5 months of duration.

Astrology webinar: Venus trines & transits

Venus trine & transit

February started with a Mars-opposition-Venus. On the 15th Feb, Venus-squared-Pluto!! That energy overshadowed Valentine’s day.. Guess what? 14th March is looking brilliant. Venus-trines-Mars! (good) Venus-conjuncts-Jupiter (auspicious). ..and Venus-trines-pluto (Hot n intense!)..and and..Mars-tines-Jupiter.. (project and expand!)…and following day (15th Match), Mars-trine-pluto (more heat and passion..and raw sex!!) That’s not all. We are building up the expectations of the Venus-transit of the Sun, due to take place on 6th June!

On the other hand, we have got an intense aspect of Uranus-square-Pluto and Jupiter-square-Neptune , taking place on 24th/ 25th of June. Squares in astrology are the most excruciating ones that agitate us into taking action on pain of internal stress (not even oppositions are that challenging. They just require compromises and balances).

I’ve been exploring western astrology for over 2 decades. I’ve written weekly forecasts for AgeNet in the mid-90′s, provided private Chart & interpretations, and have freely given transit advise for close family & pagan friends for many years. My personal interests are in forecasting, and in what I call Astro-magic (using charts and transits to do personal magical work – not quite chart-correcting, but similar in a magical way).

The upcoming *double-grand trines is one not to be missed for personal work… especially when beneficial planets are involved. Let’ be honest- we can all do with more fortunes, wealth, luck and love. (*grand trine happens between 3 planets, and a double-grand-trine is when 2 of these happening at the `same time’).

Jupiter-Moon-Venus photo

Two days ago, I was out in the local park, doing some filming (some video tutorials for the e-witch course). And on my way back home, looked up and saw the crescent moon & venus, and a little further away the planet Jupiter.

I was able to identify them as such because the ephemeris gives planetary positions, as well as moon positions for every day. And on some occasions, when the moon moves closer to planets, it’s easy to work out which bright `dot’ is a planet and not one of the many hundreds of stars in the sky.

So here’s the Jupiter (top left)  1’5″ Taurus, and crescent moon (right) ..about 4′ Pisces and Venus ( closer to moon) at 13’37″ Pisces.

Photo taken with just an ordinary digital camera, on 25th January 2012, around 5pm (GMT) from Beddington Park, South London.

You can still see these stellar objects in the night sky.

By the way, 14th March’12 is going to be very special…that’s when Jupiter and venus conjunct (9’37″ Taurus).  Moon will be wanning then and in Sagittarius.  (On that day,  there is also a venus-trine-mars, venus-trine-pluto, mars-trine-jupiter…It’s going to be a very auspicious day… magically, astrologically).
