Last March of the Elephantom

Elephantom Yesterday at The March for Elephants & Rhinos (London). This is the 4th annual March I have been to … (since the very first one in 2013). And it’s the 3rd one my sister Vathani Navasothy has actively been involved.. alongside `Action for Elephants Uk’ group that was set up (by Maria Mossman, Denise Dresner & friends) after the first March was so successful. My sister has consistently involved in it…promotions, publicity, sales, and every year doing the sponsored 10K run ..raising literally several thousands of pounds. I should know..I’ve video’ed it. 🙂 This year she took up the role of marshalling the March.

It has been an absolute thrill, privilege and an honour to have stood shoulder to shoulder with my fellow eco-activists (saving Elephants, Rhinos, Whales, Dolphins).. 🙂 Nothing will take away that…or the camaraderie & friendships I have formed with fellow activists.

Elephantom & Vathani at march for Elephants & Rhinos 2016 London.jpg

And.. each year, my old creation Elephantom the Eco-hero has been involved in `his’ many guises.. at these marches 🙂 ( I wrote a children’s graphic novel of that character originally created by me in 1994. It’s published in Amazon as ebook & print book).

But ..sometimes all good things must end.. and this will be the `final’ appearance for me & Elephantom at these great `March for Elephants & Rhinos’.

Why? Well.. as the war-Doctor would say, `It is the privilege of lesser men to light the flame.. and others to carry that on..’ .

Many of us have lent our passions and energies to bringing these to public awareness…turning up, doing huge amounts of blogging, videos (filming/ editing), promoting..etc.. I see now..that the Marches are huge…thousands are turning up.. Signatures are being taken and delivered into 10, Downing Street.. It’s going to be okay.. 🙂

And so.. (me and my sister) will be peeling off… to get on with other causes that are dear to our hearts..other matters that deeply need our energies and attentions..

I often say… nothing matters more than solving the heart-wrenching (for me) tragedy of 25,000 children dying *every day*. If humans can’t even save their own future..their own off-springs…then what good is saving the world or wild life?

The earth will carry on…none of us are in any doubt.. but it just won’t be habitable for us humans..and that’s fine.. Earth has done that many times over the Aeons.. Dinosaurs have come and sadly gone.. and I just hope humans who have come don’t go like the dinos! So.. there has to be a balance of causes.. for both humans, animals and the natural world.. !

As for me.. I have `Gaian Times’ to re-focus on.. A non-profit eco-company & magazine I started legally 5 years ago.. I will carry on working physically, spiritually and eco-magically in all my pagan / witchy rituals with people…to keep putting the energy of protection & peace for all living thing. (In fact, our Hern’s Tribe were out in woods last night doing just that eco-magic for peace & empowerment last night) 🙂

I also have my own ventures and earnings and life to worry about.. (and one of them is settling down in life..and having Children of my own.. though when finances are secure..I am more likely to adopt.. IfI can save just one of those 25,000 children dying every day in the world.. my life would have been fulfilled..

Best wishes
-Mani Navasothy

Pan’s Picnic 2016 & Wicca Lammas Harvest Ceremony in Trent Park, London – 31July2016

Join us for Pan’s Picnic – to celebrate LAMMAS 2016. (Free outdoor/ woodland event – Family-friendly – to mark the Harvest time with Ceremony and social).

Lammas: “All that rise shall fall again.”. says the popular pagan poetry! The newborn Sun-child of Yule has grown to be a rampant and playful youth and lover at Spring, committed man and husband at Beltane and responsible Sun-King at Midsummer. And at the time of Lammas, at the height of his supreme power, the King steps down- or rather gives up his life force to the land! This is harvest time in the fields, where Corn and other such grain are harvested. John Barleycorn is `baked’ and sacrificed. In God mythology, the God willingly gives himself up and the Goddess cuts him down, so that his blood may feed the land. Though it may sound alarmingly gruesome, this is to be seen in terms of symbolism, and not actual! The spilling of his blood is in fact the falling of the grains and seeds to the ground, that they may produce next year’s crops! Just as the fallen seed sleeps safely within the soil, till winter passes and next spring, so the spirit of the Lammas-King enters the underworld.  (taken from www.WitchcraftandMagic.uk ).

Sagittarius Blue Moon (June 2016)

The world gets excited when there are two full moons in the same calendar month, and call it a Blue Moon.  But the calendars we we use are arbitrary..  Supposing the first full moon is on 2nd day of a month and next one (blue moon) 31st of same month..and some new government or Emperor decides to re-adjust the calendar.. ? for example say it ends on 30th of that month and next month starts day after?   What would have been 31st (same month) will now be the 1st day of the next month..  and what would have been a Blue moon ..now is not!

Sagittarius blue moon 2016
Astrological Blue Moon  on 20th June 2016   (c) Mani Navasothy   http://www.QuantumPhoenix.net

So I have always disliked anything that goes by man-made calendars!  And I prefer stellar cycles and patterns..

So I started coining up / use phrases and concepts like `Astrological Blue moon / true blue moon’  (and even Indigo moon…but that’s about 2 New moons in same sign!)

So tomorrow we have a full moon – in  1 degree in the sign of Sagittarius.   Then 30 days later we have another full moon , at 29 degrees in Sagittarius -= which becomes the `true Blue Moon’ !!

That one also happens to be on the eve before Midsummer, when (esoteric) powers of the Sun are at a maximum..

Intuition tells me it’s going to be one powerful (Sagittarius) Blue moon on 20th May 2016.

Magical work

The good thing about Blue moons..is that we get the energy of the same-ign full moon twice in the same year (and don’t have to wait a whole year for it again).  So start doing some magical work (related) on this full moon tomorrow..and complete it 30 days later on the Blue moon 🙂

Best wishes & Bright Stellar Blessings

Astrology: Retrograde Planets in 2016 (dates & signs)

Hi all, here is the infographics I have created to show  Retrograde motion of all the planets – their  Zodiac positions & dates.

Retrograde planets in 2016 & signs affected by it (c) Mani Navasothy 2016.jpg

Notes:

Mercury has 4 retrograde periods in 2016, with the 4th one just starting in late December.

Venus makes No retrograde motion in 2016 (compare to Mars that had no retro motion last year in 2015).

A total of 5 planets will be retrograding at the same time between 28th April to 8th May (of course some of them start or end their retrograde motion before or after these dates..). Those planets are Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn & Pluto.   We can expect quite a lot of challenges at that time.. as normally we only  get 4 planets retrograding at one point or other.  That said, next year in 2018, there will be a few weeks where 6 planets will be retrograding !

I’ll type up the actual dates for all the planetary retrograde motions (same info on graph..but typed here) in a few days so come check again soon.

I have used data from `American Ephemeris 2000 to 2050′  (2nd ed. ACS Publications).

Stellar wishes
