Tamesa (Thames) Wiccan Full moon Ritual tonight (7th July’17)

Dear all..  apologies for the short notice on this..   Am facilitating the monthly Tamesa/ Wicca Full moon ritual by the banks of river Thames this evening in central London.   For this and other upcoming open rituals that I facilitate in London, please visit my meetup group `London Woodland witches & Outdoor Pagans’ (link at the bottom).

Dear all.. following the previous full moon ritual by Thames, many have shown much interest.  Also with much going on in London,  there seems to be a need to do more positive, regular, magical workings in central London.  So am scheduling a few more monthly full moon rituals in central london by the banks of river Thames.  These will be held near the full  moons in July, August & September, by the banks of river Thames in central London.

Ritual Date: Friday 7th July’17.

  • We’ll sweep away negativity, consecrate ourselves with blessed salt/water/ incense and candle, cast a magic circle, call on the 4 elemental quarters/guardians of the WatchTowers, seek support from the spirit of the place/ Tamesa, evoke the God & Goddess..and do our magic..and then share blessed cakes & wine.
  • No prior knowledge or experiences of wicca or ritual magic is necessary for you to attend this.  Just come with an open mind.  Be friendly and non-intrusive.  Connect with others, and join in the ceremony.
  • Let us come together and honour the Lady of the Moon, and Father Thames, and Tamesa the Serpent of London.. and blend it all and do magic…
  • Let us work magic..at the Heart of London.

** donations (suggested ):   £2 **

Event duration:
Gathering by Tate Modern Gallery entrance 7.30pm. Going down to river bank/  Setup and start 8.30pm.   Expected end of ritual by 9.30pm.. with some social for sharing food/drinks back on ground level  9.30-10.30pm.

Meeting point:
Gather outside the Green area of Tate Modern Gallery (main doors). We’ll walk down to the banks of Thames and do this ceremony.

Safety:
The steps are slippery. bank of Thames after previous tide will be full of new things and sharp objects. Take extreme care with your own health & safety. You are responsible for your safety.

Bright Blessings

• Our course takes place in the downstairs room (again historical for the many things that have taken place there).  There is a small toilet & kitchen area.

River Thames Blessing Ceremony (3rd Jan2016)

Dear all.. Happy New Year!
Let’s start the year with a bang.. some magical work for the City, and then a jolly celebration!!

This is a blend of 2 events – my own `River Thames Blessing’ (literally by the river banks..) and then, attending the Lions Part annual event `12th Night Celebrations’.

1. Blessing of the Thames   (12pm to about 1.30pm)

We’ve been dong river-thames based rituals since 2006 (check our www.Tamesa.info for records). In 2015, we did NOT do the `Tamesa River of Souls Halloween’ (but did do the Isis rituals earlier).
I wanted to shift the emphasis…and decided that `Blessing the river’ is the way to go…for us Londoners.. cos the `River runs through our city’ 🙂 So join me around 12noon….for a very friendly and short `river blessing ceremony’ –

Details: Please get to Millennium Bridge (St.Pauls side).. and meet us ..at the beginning of the Millennium Bridge (end of `Peter’s Hill’). We’ll then walk down to the river banks (slippery… so do this at your own risk) for the ceremony.

ps.  Low tide is at 1.33pm..  so we’ll be perfectly safe on the river banks just before that..!

Directions:

Nearest tube:  BlackFriars station or Mansion House. Then walk about 10minutes along Queen Victoria Street (one comes from left, other from right) to `Peter’s Hill’ (name of a small road).  and head to Millennium Bridge.

2. Bankside 12th Night Celebrations.   (2pm onwards)

This is an annual event facilitated by the Theatre company `Lionspart’ (in Autumn they run the `October plenty’ where we actually get to go into Shakespear’s Globe Theatre!).

Here’s some extracts about this event..
1. Holly Man arrives by boat along Thames.
2. The Ban Wassails – various blessings
3. The Mummers play (in the street )
4. Then then “lead the people in procession through the streets to the historic George Inn in Borough High Street for a fine warming up with Storytelling, the Kissing Wishing Tree and more Dancing.”

It’s all friendly and great fun.. (Just wrap up very warm..and bring raincoat in case in is a bit wet! This is England!!).

If you are joining only for this..(it’s a public event.. we are just attending it..) you can go ahead to the Globe Theatre area..or join us for river Blessing..and then continue to hang out with us..

Best wishes
-Mani

Woodland & River Thames Samhain (Halloween) Rituals in London

Hi all,    happy to announce plans are firming up for 2 Samhain rituals..

  • Saturday 27th October 2012– Near Croydon (south London area) – is the Hern’s Tribe Samhain (woodland) ritual..  meet-up at 3pm.  (british summer time).
  • Wednesday 31st October 2012 – Central London (underneath Millennium Bridge) – is the Tamesa London Circle’s (river Thames) ritual.. meet-up at 8pm.   (GMT as clocks would have gone to GMT again).

All who are interested are Welcome.  (New comers with no ritual experience are welcome too..  we are friendly and we explain things before we start!)  🙂     Click links/ graphics  to read more about these two ritual groups…(HT started by me…in 2004, TLC started by April & me in 2006).

Here are the pretty graphics / info for them both:-)

Hern’s Tribe Samhain – 27Oct’12 (Croydon Woods)

Hern’s Tribe meets for each of the 8 seasonal festivals, in an outdoor woodland setting, for rituals and socials. For this Samhain ritual, we plan to have a pathworking that takes participants on a spiritual journey to connect (through blood-lines) to their ancestral tribes of times old- for empowerment. There will be some divination work afterwards, as well as magic with a potion brewed in the Cauldron for wisdom & knowledge (works a little with mythology of Cauldron of Cerridwen & myth of Taliesin). Don’t worry..it’s just herbal tea (hopefully fresh fennel we can pick from local park or garden).

Tamesa London Circle’s Samhain Ritual – 31st Oct’12 – by river Thames (central London)

Tamesa  London Circle: We are gathering by the river Thames on the 31st October’2012, around 8pm by the Millennium Bridge (St-Paul’s side) ..for this annual ritual. It’s an evening where you can dress up freely in your Witchy, pagan or magical robes, cloaks and attires…and be seen.. as everyone else is busy doing their fancy-dress parties in London. An opportunity not to be missed. We will facilitate a very simple ceremony.. of creating sacred space, calling ancestral quarters in place of east, south, west & north…and honour our ancestors as well as the thousands of spirits that inhabit the river Thames (from the bodies & bones that have been thrown into Thames for many centuries…).

In Greek mythology, Charon the ferryman sails souls of the dead across river Styx to the Underworld (he requires coins as payment). So for this night, river Thames (meaning `dark one’) stands in for river Styx, and as token gesture for our ancestors’ spirits, we will offer small coins into Thames..

  • Feel free to dress up..in your best Witchy or magical robes, cloaks and attires for these events..   🙂 Bring pumpkins, lanterns…and especially food & drinks to share..
  • Don’t forget…warm waterproof clothings…it’s outdoors so will be cold.  Our rituals tend to go ahead whatever the weather (we’ve done then even in snow!)

Bring food and drinks to share…for the social afterwards…After all it’s our Halloween festival
