What is Earth Web?
Earth Web is an international ceremony to protect the land from fracking. All are invited to create their own ceremonies – whether in a group or as a solo activity – to help build this third TWC global day of ritual action into the biggest event yet!
(There is an Event in South London on Saturday, being organised by friends of mine. See bottom of this blog for details – mani)
About Fracking
So many of humanity’s ills are inflamed by the fossil fuel industry’s greed. Wall Street has turned the fracking industry into an investment bubble big enough to plunge the world into another global recession. The recent atrocities in Gaza are undoubtedly affected by a wider plan to bring Palestinian gas-reserves under Israeli dominion. Peak oil has been and gone – Industrial Civilisation is now trapped within a downward and seemingly unstoppable spiral of decline. And, on top of all this, anthropogenic climate change is growing further and further out of control.
Fracking’s cancer has spread to the four corners of the globe. Even if you are not living in an area effected, taking part in this event will help those who are – its been fed back to us that, simply knowing people all around the world care enough to gather in this way, lights a beacon of hope in the hearts of those whose lives and health have been destroyed by these practices.
‘The Warrior’s Call’ is a global pagan movement against hydraulic fracturing and other forms of extreme gas extraction. We work to prevent sacred sites such as Chalice Well in Glastonbury from being made toxic through fracking. This is the third such global event organized by The Warrior’s Call.
What about other religions?
This is an event spearheaded by the pagan community, but all creeds are invited to participate in their own special way. Everyone is welcome to help create this global act of spiritual solidarity. So join this international wave of activity, and let’s make this – TWC’s third world ritual – the biggest event yet!
What’s Spirituality got to do with this?
In a world that has fallen into crisis, it is vitally important for spiritual communities to unite and stand together as one. Therefore, all people of good intent are called to create ceremonies for ‘Earth Web’, an international day of spiritual healing, that will protecting the Land from the blight of fracking and other forms of extreme energy.
Earth Web event in South London (near Sutton & Croydon)
Date : 4th October 2014
Venue: Beddington Park, Hackbridge, Surrey (close to Mitcham, Sutton and Croydon)
Time: 1pm gathering…for 3pm globally coordinated ceremony.
Meeting place: Pavilion Cafe at Beddington Park, Hackbridge (nearest Train station `Hackbridge’ – served by trains from London Victoria every 30 mins.. Then 10 min walk to park.)
