Gaia Guardians: The Next Generation! (and all Good things..)

In 2006, I was introduced to Earth day by the now late Jean Williams, Wiccan HPS & pagan elder. It was a park tidy up and eco ceremony in Queen’s Woods. I took up the cause, thinking, surely we have to do more..and bring more awareness and celebrate it. The following year (2007) I organised the first `Gaia convention’ (called Gaia-3) for PF-London. It was followed by PFL Gaia-Fortuna, and PFL Gaia-Sol conventions in 2008 & 2009. Friends & I also started `Gaian Times Magazine’ 5 years ago.

And so this year..2017 marks 10 years of me organising and facilitating Earth day events..in various guises 🙂 Thank you Jean Williams.

And it is with mixed feelings that I now announce that this is where I bow out on these big Earth day events. I had that feeling when i set off yesterday morning carrying lots of heavy bulky things.. feeling tired, saying to my self (like that hobbit Frodo once said..), `I can’t do this anymore..’ . And last night I got home and did a quick tarot to ask some divine advise.. and indeed my original intuition was correct. The cards say it is time.

But I am content and happy that we have had the highest number of children attend an Earth Day.. but there was no Eco ceremony. I felt that ..as I watched everyone socialise and play.. that `Life itself on the body of Gaia is a divine ceremony’ (so long as we are aware and mindful of it).

Am also aware that now in London.. others are organising big Earth Day events (indoors). It remains my cause to keep getting Pagans out into the parks and woods.. which I will carry on in other ways and other events.. such as meditative events, walks in woods, and Eco-Healing work..

Thank you all who have come to the many Earth Day & Earth Hour events I have facilitated and participated. Thank you to all my friends, family & Tribe who have helped me with organising these events and supporting them. And thank you wonderful humans, children, and animals ..for attending and enjoying the events. Together we are Gaia.

EarthLight Blessings of Gaia.

I am Gaian! (The EU Referendum thing)

I am Gaian – one of the billion children of Gaia – the Earth Mother.  And here is my thought on this EU referendum.

The Earth is our mother..and we are at one with her. We need no borders or boundaries. What politicians play at is only a temporary caffuffle..Resulting issues may affect us in the interim.. weeks, months or even years.. but there is a bigger picture!

Oneness, global collective, and Universality (Uni = one) is the way forward.

This is the only thing I ever need to know and trust.. so there is only one way I will be voting today!

It’s all about Global Community..

That’s Come+Unity! 🙂

Breaking hearts maketh our future - by Mani Navasothy 2016

The battle for our future is

not decided by aliens & humans,

nor by saints or soldiers, politicians or eco-activists…

but by the human heart

– not when it is happy but when it is breaking!

That is when the measure of a man or women is revealed..!

If it is love and compassion that surfaces,

humanity will be saved..

and if it is vengeance,

then we will sink,

and the planet will have rid of us

and Gaia will start anew!

Eco: Time to Act – National Climate March – London (7th March 2015)

This is the 2nd big event of this type in London.  The first one took place on 21st September 2014 (last year), which I joined with a number of friends..(and met ever more numbers of other friends along the way).

Event: Time to act National Climate March (London)

Date: Saturday 7th March 2015

Time:  Gather by 12.30pm

Gathering venue:  Lincoln’s Inn Fields, WC2A 3 London, United Kingdom

—————-Info from official Facebook Page ——————————-

The People’s Climate March last September was huge. With around 40,000 people marching in London, 400,000 in New York and many thousands more taking part across the world, together we made history.

2015 needs to be even bigger. The climate talks in Paris this December are crucial if we’re going to protect all that we love. Our movement is growing, and we’re more diverse and determined than ever before.

Across the UK people are already building change – from divestment of funds which prop up the fossil fuel industry, to front-line communities fighting unsustainable energy extraction and fracking, through to those paving the way for a transition towards a 100% renewable energy future which would bring about an estimated one million new climate jobs in the UK alone.

As with the People’s Climate March, individuals and groups have set up ‘blocs’ on the march – a chance to join with others who are passionate about particular issues related to climate change. See below for a list of blocs (not exhaustive!)

And visit www.timetoact2015.org to find out more about how you can get involved, including details about coaches from around the countryhttp://bit.ly/18YKYU6

Join us on March 7 to bring a message of urgency which cannot be ignored.

And together let’s continue to power up and celebrate our movement – locally, nationally and internationally – throughout 2015, and beyond.

************** Blocs update ********************

Join with others to walk together in solidarity on the day. Two weeks before the march we’ll pop up a bloc map.

We are the Trees (Sanctuary Earth & the Oath)

As New Year approaches, I like to share a small poem that came to me today.. and some related eco-thoughts and an oath I made almost 2 decades ago 🙂

I am the Tree (c) Mani Navasothy

I am the Tree (c) Mani Navasothy

“Here we are , You and me

Standing in the place of Ancient Trees.

What will we add to this World, pray tell

Make it a place of Heaven ..or Hell..? “

Many already know that I am a nature-worshipping, tree-hugging, storm-chasing, mask-making magician, ritualist, Scientist, and an Environmentalist!

Years and years ago, I heard the songs from The Gaia Album by Olivia Newton-John, and it’s probably one of those things that totally consumed me – the plea of the Earth and Trees (the way she sang them)..and made me a Gaia-Guardian!

There was also the Channel 4 TV mini-series `Merlin’ almost 2 decades ago.. starring Sam Neil as Merlin, reluctant boy who is mentored by Maab, Queen of the Fairies, to be at her side..  But Merlin rebels after seeing her selfish ways, and swears not to use his magic except to help, and to oppose her!  There is a scene where he is seated in the forest floor, and makes a vow..!

So moved was I, that within moments, I had gone out to the garden, and on my Witch’s Knife (Athame), made a magical Oath to the Earth.   (This  is probably the first time I have ever shared this matter!)

Over the years, many related ecological and environmental concerns, campaigns, initiatives, plans & projects have surfaced or manifested from me..and those will continue..

So.. here as we stand at the end of 2013, what I called `The Year of the Witch’ – a difficult one personally, I think back to the one force that has always remained constant in my last 2 decades..  my love for the Earth!

I feel it every time I walk in the woods, and every time I step carefully and with reverence, into a hollow centred living Oak tree.  How often do we as humans ever go back to being literally inside another living creature-  apart from the first 9 unborn months of our lives?  Only when we are inside a living Tree!!

To me, that is returning to the womb-like sanctuary of Gaia .. mother Earth..  more so than being inside a Cave!

As 2014 dawns, I remind myself of the oath!

Bright Blessings to all

-Mani Navasothy
