A Wiccan Path for Beginners – one day woodland course in London (Feb’16)

The practise of wicca & Witchcraft is seen as one of the neo pagan paths of religion and spirituality – for personal / psychic development, higher self as well as celebration, honouring of nature and worship of the divine!

Join me in this one-day outdoor course, suitable for beginners & seekers of Wicca!

Wiccan Path for Beginners - 28Feb2016 (c) Mani Navasothy.jpg

As a nature-based religion, the best way to explore Wicca is in a natural setting! So I have run these since 2006 in various woods & pars of London. Yes at times it’s cold or it rains… but we prepare (that too is part of being a Nature-Witch!)

Who is this course for?

This course is  to introduce Wicca & Witchcraft to beginners & seekers!  I often see so many people stumbling or making some mistakes or are nervous at rituals- so here it is – a full introduction.  This is for any and all those interested or curious about Wicca & Witchcraft and like  a simple, down to earth, friendly introduction…the whole lot in one half a day.. so you can decide if it’s worth going further!

There are not many courses of Wicca run in London these days.. Sometimes my own mentors (Vivianne & Chris Crowley) run them in indoor venue. Sometimes I run them in indoor venues. Children of Artemis / Witchfest people run them once a year .this time in Glastonbury!!
So don’t miss this opportunity!

Who is this course NOT for?  If you are already initiated or fully aware of wicca and been in other training groups for many years / months, then this is NOT for you.   Those interested in Advanced Wicca can join me for other courses in summer!

(note: People with much prior Wicca experience tend to be disruptive because they nudge  the focus to higher levels to suit  them, and it leaves others in these beginners baffled and feeling inadequate. That is not what I want for them).

Course contents:

• Origins of Modern Wicca

• Wiccan Law & principles

• Structure & Ritual formats

• Consecrations, sacred space & magic circle

• Working with Elements & Quarters

• Horned God & Moon Goddess

•  Magic & Spellcraft in Wicca

• Esbats (full moon) and Sabats (seasonal festivals)- Wheel of the Wicca Year

• Initiations & Coven life

Fee:  £13 (per person)

Later in spring/ summer, I will resume more of the courses – Practical Magic workshops, deeper exploration of Initiatory Wicca and so on..   But the journey begins here…with a friendly introduction in a natural setting.. (no one has been doing that in London except me for 10 years!!)

For FULL DETAILS ..visit the meetup event I have set up for this (and you can pay fees/book there by Paypal).

Bright Blessings

Imbolc Rituals in London (Jan/Feb 2015)

Imbolc (Candlemass) is one of the 8 nature based festivals that pagans celebrate – and it is said to be the time when the Winter Goddess who has kept her grip on the land loosens her hold, so that the ice melts and waters break and flow again. It is when the Goddess Bride (Brigid) `returns’ to the land. Her path is lit by candles, symbolising the return of light and warmth which is imminent. Bride is a Goddess of poetry, inspiration, healing, knot-magic and weaving. With her, she brings the gifts of 3 flames!

Celebrating the Three Druidic Freedoms: of Thought; of Speech; & of Association Called for by John Tollund in 1716, & assembled by Iolo Morgannwg in 1792.

DIRECTIONS

If you’re coming by tube to Chalk Farm, turn RIGHT on leaving the station & cross Adelaide Rd to get to Regents Park Rd into which you turn RIGHT (admiring the Banksy stencil graffiti of a uniformed maid sweeping dust under a wall) & go uphill to the cycle/pedestrian only bridge over a railway & turn LEFT over it.

Confronted by 3 roads take the middle one (still R P Rd) & continue past the trendy shops & coffee-houses full of minor celebrities as it curves very slightly to the left, until you reach the Queen’s Head pub on the corner opposite the gate into Primrose Hill.

Enter the Park thro’ this gate & take the steepest path in front of you to the top of the hill where you will find a viewing platform overlooking most of the old City of London to the South & East, & a Memorial to Iolo Morganwg.

To the WEST & just below the brow of the hill you will see a small copse of hawthorn trees which is where we meet. Do please come & join us & make yourself known.

And remember, we’ll be meeting up in the pub afterwards! 🙂

If you’d like to be alerted to when our next event will be, please “like” the page 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/LooseAssociationOfDruidsOfPrimroseHill

Please do note the caveat concerning photography listed in our “about” section describing the LADS meetings:
“Please contact us first if you would like to take pictures, and please be sure that you obtain consent first. Thank you”

This is followed by learning about Runes, and carving bind-runes on your wand to energise it. The workshop concludes with a Wiccan ritual, where you will use your new wand to either cast a magic circle, or invoke one of the elemental quarters.

Workshop#2
Wax pentacle making & Cord Magic. You will learn about the symbols Wiccans use on a pentacle, then create a Wax pentacle using a special technique devised by Mani for outdoors. Herbs & Crystals will be embedded into the Pentacle. You then do a tool consecration for the pentacle. This is followed by learning to do a Wiccan Cord Magic.
