Sticks & Stones : aka (shadow) Projections!

We all project our shadows.. some are what we call `good’ – and other times, `bad ones’ – like repressed feelings of love, lust, loss, hate. Sometimes feelings we have of one aspect that doesn’t get expressed wait.. they sit and percolate.. and bang comes an outside inident and it acts as a focus for all that repressed expressions..

Take for example, the way the nation fell into grief over the death of Princess Diana.. or even some celebrity that we never knew, touched, faced or talked to..

Take also projections of intense dislile or actual hate – for some person(s) who have done no harm to you directly.. You may feel powerless or dislike someone else or something else and that unexpressed feeling sits…and sometimes an outside event or a person does something minor and all of a sudden.. you begin to dislike them, and it snow balls, and rage and hate build up.. and before you know it, you’ve made someone public enemy number#1 …not just in your life, but by talking about it.. and that triggering other people to project their feelings.. you all have made that one person the enemy of state! (or a group, or a community).

Collusion is a process .. Am human enough to admit I’ve colluded. I’ve also in the past projected stuff.. And at the opposite end, I’ve been villfied and made a public enemy#1 for others’ groups and communities too.

It’s horrible and nasty to be at the end of such focused hatred and distrust of many other people.. (I hesitate to use the word `pack of wolf’ or even `lynch mob’.. but that describes it).

For a Love and light society, or one where we are supposed to be working on forgiveness, compassion, rehabilitaions, 2nd chances, 3rd chances and on and on.. we still live in and see a world .. where collusions happen. Group projections of adoration and hate happens too.

So take stock.. stop for half a day and sit and think where you are being a hypocrite.. where you are talking compassion but walking hate! Get of the unconscious outpouring of repressed feelings on to some 3rd party.. where something is projected as a martyr and a sacrifice and something else is projected as a monster and a Villain.

As we pass the time of dark light balance and move into darker seasons.. it’s also wiser to slow down and work inwardly on our own shadows and ressolve them.. lest we make villains of others who’s crime is far less than that of monsters who fell acres of forests or murder millions of humans.
