The following guided Meditation was written by me, for use in an Open Lammas ritual in London (for Pagan Federation London seasonal event ..on 30July’15). I decided to share it here for the benefit of others. The art work herein was done specially for this.
“In myth & legends, the concept of personal sacrifice occurs again and again. It is often coupled with some quest and a reward to gain something important. Here are some examples:
-The Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who was crucified, was to remove the sins of the people.
-The Sacrifice of Odin / the God who hung upon the World Tree – was to gain the secrets and mysteries of the Runes.
-The sacrifice of the Corn King / Barley Corn is for harvest and to renew the energies of the land.
-And on the darker side, Hern sacrificed himself on a Windsor Oak tree, for vengeance and Justice.
Now think about your own lives. Think about your own struggles and challenges and quests, and the sacrifices you keep making..over and over.. again and again.. day after day… months..and months..year after year.
Q: Take a moment to think about these personal sacrifices.. The Card you picked at the start may offer some divinatory focus.
Q: Have they produced the rewards? Have you got the results you were seeking? If not, why not?
Q: Sometimes, more often, in order for magic to happen, you must do the spell and then let go.. totally let go…
Close your eyes now..and imagine yourself as the being that is hanging by the feet upon the World tree..like Odin and the Hanged Man. You dangle above the Earth.. neither rising, nor falling.. between worlds.. and not part of the world. You have hung long enough. You have suffered long enough. It is time to drop back into the world and be part of it, so that your magic can materialise in your life!
Get ready to count from 10…down to 1. On the count of 1, you are going to let go, and drop..and glide back to the Earth.
10.. 9..8.. 7.. 6.. 5..4..3..2..
Bright Lammas Blessings

It pleases me to announce our 3rd annual Celebration of The Night of the Cradle. The `Birth of Goddess Isis’ ceremony will take place on the New Moon (in watery sign of Cancer) on Thursday 16thJuly 2015. We gather by the banks of river Thames for a special Ceremony in the evening…to mark the Night of the Cradle’ where Sky Goddess Nut gave birth to the Egyptian Goddess Isis.
Date: Thursday 16th July 2015 .
Venue & time: Richmond (riverside) by the riverside passage/gate to Terrace Gardens (looks like a cave!).
Meet at Richmond station by 6.30pm and walk with me to the ritual spot (20 mins). I will be prompt, and this `walking together’ is a symbolic and informal `procession’ part of the ceremony!
Or follow the google map and arrive at the ritual spot (Terrace Gardens area..but by the river) at 7pm onwards.
As this is a `Night of the Cradle- Birth of Isis’ , we are starting this ceremony later in the evening, so that we may perform the rite after sunset..(night). We’ll be using the `cave-like’ space by the riverside.. and will fix `stars’ on the ceilings .. to recreate a `body of the Sky Goddess Nuit’ (mother of Isis).
The ceremony itself is expected to be 30mins ..and then we’ll continue socials/ feasting.. (It’s a birthday party, after all). 🙂 So be sure to bring plenty of Wine & cakes.
Ceremony outline (subject to changes) —————–
A decorative altar with Sky Goddess Nut and a concealed statue of Isis will be set up.
Element consecrations (incense, lantern, salt/water).
Isis called by her many names! This will be a chant led by Organisers.
Goddess Isis (statue) is revealed.
Milk & flower Ceremony – all bath statue in milk, followed by offering of flowers. These are then offered to the river Thames.
Food & drinks blessed and shared.
Birthday Party !! (Birthday of Isis).
What to bring:
Food & drinks to share.
As it is a public place, passers-by may take photos or watch. That is accepted by the organisers, in the spirit of celebrating the Birthday of Isis 🙂
We ask all to be in good public behaviour.
If you do an internet search for the Archangel names, firstly many variations come up, and second, you’ll see a whole lot of shops selling talismans & pendants with all sorts of symbols and sigils, with a mixture of Hebrew writing included and all sorts of squiggles.
The question is, how far do you trust them? How accurate do you think those sigils are – and how do you even test to ensure they are accurate? (unless you are already an expert at those matters).
Am not saying anyone out there is deliberately trying to mislead anyone. But my own extensive internet (and hard printed books) searches have shown me that there’s a lot of smudging and confusion in this matter… People are sometimes just copying one another’s websites/ blogs or info..and the mistakes/ misinformation is either spreading or getting amplified (like Chinese whispers).
There are worlds, realms and beings out there – magical, etherial and the supernatural – that are best left alone. Because once you disturb them, or open a door to their realms, or if they happen to disturb you.. life is *never* going to be the same.
Years ago, I had dabbled…all so briefly..with some sigils.. just playful.. for a day or so.. and the psychic reaction I got from that was so shocking and intense, that it scared me. I erased all traces of that experiment..and put it away for years! Until last year! When I had cause to open it up again.. But this time it’s different. I’m being extremely careful.. and double..triple checking every detail..
It started as a personal need to know what I can trust ..and then it became an interest…and then it became a promise.. that what I know I must share with others.. Because there are those amongst you.. who are seeking.. out of curiosity, interest or worse…desperation..!
That’s why this is being written.. To help those who are seeking.
Is it my place to help? Do I know enough to help? Possibly No..for both questions. But I have a new philosophy that I have been living by now..for almost half a year.. If you are working with Angels, how ever small or large an involvement, you have to live by some high ideals and standards.. There is no faking it…or suppressing it or denying it.. They will know. So you have to simply start being it…your best self.. your noble self.. your angelic self!
So with those disclaimers / warnings in mind, let’s begin.
1. The Rose Wheel
I won’t go into the full history or detail of it.. You can look it up on wikipedia .. or the `Golden Dawn’ (for first hand knowledge/ reading). I will say this.. if you don’t know it,, and you were looking for it …it will have been one hard journey. Information online is fragmented..and bits seem to be kept apart.
I eventually found it…and suddenly it all made sense.. So am writing about it first..(so that it saves you the trouble). It’s a key that practitioners of `Golden Dawn’ western magical tradition used in their ceremonies, rituals and magical work.
I have re-created only the central section here. Not only that, I have also combined the Hebrew letters/ sounds that match the english letters/ sounds as near as possible..
2. Arch Angel names
Am only referring to the four Archangels used in the `Ritual of the lesser banishing of the Pentagram’ – mainly, Raphael, Michael, Gabriel and Uriel… for East, South, West and North directions respectively.
These names were originally said in Hebrew, and were written in that langage. So their pronounciations are slightly different.I have gone back to the Hebrew forms (given in example)..
3. How to write Archangelnames in sigil form
Start by writing the specific name in Hebrew (or find a hebrew version online!). Remember Hebrew is written from right to left..
Then Take out a pre-drawn Rose Wheel. Yes, you’ll need one. And above I ave provided one version. Just print it off, orr copy it using geometric accuracy..or view it enlarged, stick a paper on your screen, and trace over it carefully (don’t press too hard and end up damaging the screen.. so be very careful)
Mark out the letters of the name on the Rose Wheel.
Now in sequence, trace over the letters, thereby drawing the sigil of the Archangel name.
Here are fully illustrated examples I have created.
With these 4 examples, and the Rose Wheel diagram above, you now have the tools and techniques to start creating sigils of other Arch Angel and Angel names in sigil forms..
This is a simple ritual that has an impact on a magical and transpersonal level. The act of doing the ritual is magical. The act also sends a strong message to your own subconscious mind, which in turn will begin a positive long term impact.
Usually people do these `letting go’ rituals at Samhain (Halloween) or on New Year’s Eve, as a way of letting go of their past issues and ties. However, as you embark on a new magical journey, it is equally appropriate to let go of the issues that weigh you down inwardly now.
There are those who will find this difficult to do, not the actual practical ritual itself but approaching the matter of making an effort to let go. Some people find it `comfortable’ to hold on to past issues, and cling to them as some sort of crutch. But letting go, even if this ritual is done half-heartedly, still creates the wonderful `avalanche effect’ of starting the process within. You do not have to even believe it. Just do it! (We are working in the realms of magic, after all!)
You’ll need a large piece of blank paper, a pen, a small container to burn it in (a saucepan, if you do not have a cauldron), matches or lighter.
On a piece of paper, write down the following (in no particular order or format): Worries and fears you currently have in your life; Problems you may face on health issues, financial, housing, career or work related. Issues on bullying/ harassment you may be facing, of politics, relationships, friendships, love, security; Matters of past guilt, shame, secrecy, fidelity, loyalty.
Once writing is complete, hold the piece of paper to your chest and visualize those issues seeping out from your heart into the paper. You can also hold the paper to your forehead, and visualize the issues that have been worrying you, seeping from your mind and into the paper. For health issues, we suggest you hold the paper against your stomach and visualize those issues seeping into the paper. (You can do all 3 on the same paper).
Now gently spit on the paper 3 times.
Go to a ventilated location in your house – garden, veranda, balcony, or back-door (with door open). Slightly crunch the piece of paper into a loose ball. Light it with matches or lighter.
Step back a little and watch it burn away completely. Let those energies that have tied you up till now be burned away by the powers of Fire, leaving you to begin an internal transformation. If there are any ashes left, you can bury them in the ground, or drop them into the toilet, urinate over and flush them down!!
