Tomorrow, Thursday 4th October, around 13:17hrs gmt, Jupiter – the biggest planet in the Solar System – begins its retrograde motion!
Jupiter arrived in the sign of Gemini on the 12th June’12, and has been imparting much of its jovial, expansive energies for all Geminians. But as is normal for all planets every year, Jupiter now starts to go `backwards’ .
Retrograde (planetary backward motion) explained
(an optical illusion of what we see from planet Earth, when we observe other planets. It’s a bit similar to being in a train and watching another train on the other track…both going forward, but at some point, if your train is going faster, then the other one looks like it’s going backwards. Well, that’s what retrograde motions are. The planets are not really going backwards. It seems that way. Nevertheless, astrologically, this does influence the people!)
Jupiter’s retrograde duration
Jupiter begins its retrograde on 4th October, and will continue `going backwards’ till 30th January 2013. That’s a good 4 months!!
For Gemini
This is going to affect Geminis, who will have to take stock of all the exuberant positive expansions they have been undertaking, and review some of the recent changes. It has been like starving for so long, and someone gave you the key to a fabulous kitchen. Gemini’s have been feasting …too fast too much may be. So some of that may now be creating indigestion. It’s time to slow down a bit, and deal with the challenges of indulgence. Don’t worry though, nothing difficult will arise.. you just have to slow and consolidate for the next 4 months.
For Sagittarians
Jupiter rules the jolly jovial zodiac sign of Sagittarius. So when Jupiter begins a retrograde emotion for the next 4 months, that is going to impact on the Archers – no escaping this!
When Jupiter was in the earthy sign of Taurus for a year or so (part of last year and till 12th June..earlier this year), Sagittarians have been (no doubt) feeling rather grounded, and `forced’ to deal with so many practical things. So when Jupiter entered the air sign of Gemini, it was literally like a breath of fresh air…time to throw away the heavy boots, and skip, bounce and run..or rather get into a frantic phase of wheeling & dealing, cooking enterprises & commerce, beginning to look at distant horizons..
But now, after about 3+ mont,s it’s time to slow down a bit, and look at some missed side roads – that may well turn out to be leading to other horizons, or pick up things you’ve dropped along the way in your hurry to travel far and fast!
Mars, Mercury & Sun in sagittarius- coming to help
This does not have to be a difficult time for Sagittarians. In a few days (7th Oct’12) firey planet Mars enters the sign of the Archer and stays till 16th Nov’12. That’s new energy coming in…as well as initiatives. And between 29th Oct-13th Oct (and 11th Dec-31st Dec) ..Mercury the cosmic messenger is also in this sign. And of course, between 22 Nov- 21st Dec, the mighty Sun is coming for the annual power-boost for Sagittarians!
