In Tamil, it is spelt, `Deepavali’..where `Deepam’ means flame/light, and `Vali’ means path…so it reads…`path of light’
Today Hindus all over the world are celebrating Diwali – festival of light.. Some say it was the day Lord Rama returned to his Kingdom after 14 years of exile..Other myths say it was when God Murugan defeated a demon.. whichever the case, it seems to symbolise the return to personal form and victory over adversity.
