We are gathering at our more secluded Croydon woodland venue for an afternoon & evening – to mark Beltane .This ritual will be shamanic in nature, with drumming & chants, ceremony, animal spirit quarters and evocations of Cernunnos Lord of the Beasts – for protection of all endangered wildlife every where. We will also be doing seed-magic for planting new ventures in our lives.. Socials, celebrations will thread through the entire gathering.. Bring drums etc to join in..(if you have any)

All are welcome.. pagans, non-pagans, friends.. to participate in the ceremony and/or the social afterwards.

Date: Saturday 26th April 2014
Time: 4pm – 8pm
Meet by `Coombe Lane’ Tram stop (5 mins from East Croydon by Tram)

What to bring

Bottle of  Wine / Mead, and seasonal food will be great.   Or anything from French bread sticks, cheese, humus, butter to pre-cooked chicken, short-eats, fruits, home made items, salads, dips, pasta etc are all fine.  If not possible, then feel free to donate a few pounds £2 ? towards our costs.  🙂

Cutlery etc: Plastic cups, paper plates, forks & knives, spare bags (to pack items not eaten), bin bags – we usually bring these. But if you can bring some too – that will be good.

Torch light – Some evening gatherings finish in dark. So a torch light helps to find things when tidying up & packing.

wear sensible outdoor cloths. ps. sometimes we have a ceremonial fire.. and .your cloths are likely to smell of smoke

Celebrating the Three Druidic Freedoms: of Thought; of Speech; & of Association Called for by John Tollund in 1716, & assembled by Iolo Morgannwg in 1792.

DIRECTIONS

If you’re coming by tube to Chalk Farm, turn RIGHT on leaving the station & cross Adelaide Rd to get to Regents Park Rd into which you turn RIGHT (admiring the Banksy stencil graffiti of a uniformed maid sweeping dust under a wall) & go uphill to the cycle/pedestrian only bridge over a railway & turn LEFT over it.

Confronted by 3 roads take the middle one (still R P Rd) & continue past the trendy shops & coffee-houses full of minor celebrities as it curves very slightly to the left, until you reach the Queen’s Head pub on the corner opposite the gate into Primrose Hill.

Enter the Park thro’ this gate & take the steepest path in front of you to the top of the hill where you will find a viewing platform overlooking most of the old City of London to the South & East, & a Memorial to Iolo Morganwg.

To the WEST & just below the brow of the hill you will see a small copse of hawthorn trees which is where we meet. Do please come & join us & make yourself known.

After the celebration, we will go to the Richard steele pub nearby. Looking forward to seeing you there! 🙂
