Tamesa (and Thames-Isis) London rituals in 2015

Greetings all.  I have finalised the dates and venues for the annual rituals I facilitate by the river Thames in this coming cycle.  Tamesa London Circle (started by April & myself in 2006) was doing 8-10 rituals a year but for the past 2 years had been focusing on Thames-Isis ceremonies (call it a Calling).

After 2 years I was thinking to conclude them (at last year’s Birthday of Isis event).  Why?  Well, working these mythology based rituals are not always easy – especially on one’s own personal life.  So many people forget that when we do magical ceremonies and rituals, those energies – both the aspects we want and the aspects we were not fully aware of- work through our lives.  (I;ll write more about this in another blog post).  So I was planning to wrap up the Thames-Isis rituals in 2014.

However, as the saying goes, Man may propose but the Gods (and Goddesses) dispose! 🙂

And so here we are..   beginning the 3rd cycle of these Isis (Thames-Isis) ceremonies, with the `Isidias Navigatum- Blessing of the Fleet’ in March, Birthday of Isis in July (on a new moon!) and the 3rd ritual (not Isis related) the `Tamesa river of Souls Samhain / Halloween’ in October (on the full moon closer to Samhain).

They all have `meetup’ events already setup in the meetup group I run. (link at the bottom of each section)..  I shall of course post blogs here as reminder, nearer to each Ceremony. These are approximately 3+ months apart.

Here are the Tamesa rituals for this year 2015.   I hope those of you in London will attend ..  to honour, worship and gain magical and spiritual experiences from these.  As my own spirituality evolves, so must the work I do and so these rituals will incorporate some new elements to them.

Bright Blessings

-Mani

1. Isidias Navigatum- Blessing of the Fleet – Isis Ritual

Sunday 1st March 2015   @ Richmond

Isidias Navigatum Blessing the Fleet ritual 2015 London
Isidias Navigatum Blessing the Fleet ritual 2015 London

This annual ceremony was held at the start of the Spring time in Ancient Egypt, to gain the blessings of Goddess Isis upon the ships and boats (Fleet) – so that they may go forth, find commerce, resources and wealth and bring them back. You will have heard the saying, `waiting for my ship to come in’ – a saying that indicates a person waiting for his /her good fortunes to arrive. Well, in order for ships to come in they must first be sent out – and with blessings and good plans. We are adapting the old ceremony to suit the times and place we now live it! In this ceremony, we will bless the `fleet’ and place our hopes and wishes of good fortune and success in the ventures we are starting as Spring approaches. We then set the ships to sail (some will be sent.. other larger models will be pulled back, so as not to litter river Thames)

Our 3rd annual Celebration of The Night of the Cradle: Birth of Goddess Isis’ will take place on the New Moon (In watery sign of Cancer) in July 2015. We gather by the banks of river Thames (Cleopatra’s Needle, by Victoria-Embankment) for a special Ceremony in the evening…to mark the Night of the Cradle’ where Sky Goddess Nut gave birth to the Egyptian Goddess Isis. For July 2015,  we return to the original spot- The Egyptian themed `Cleopatra’s Needle’  with 2 large Sphinx – in Central London.

Outline: A decorative altar with Sky Goddess Nut and a concealed statue of Isis will be set up.  Element consecrations (incense, lantern, salt/water). Isis called by her many names! This will be a chant led by Mani and friends. Goddess Isis (statue) is revealed. Milk & flower Ceremony – all bath statue in milk, followed by offering of flowers. These are then offered to the river Thames.   Food & drinks blessed and shared.

3. Tamesa River of Souls (Halloween) & Full Moon Ritual

Tuesday 27th October 2015 @ Millennium Bridge area by river side, Central London

Tamesa Halloween Ritual 2015
Tamesa Halloween Ritual 2015

Every year, near Samhain (Halloween.. traditional day of honoring our ancestors) we hold a small ritual/ceremony by the river Thames in Central London. This year (2015), the tide is low in the evening on the night of the full moon ..of Tuesday 27th October’15. That is when we will be holding, `Tamesa River of Souls’ Halloween Ritual- right on the banks of river Thames.

Part of our ceremony involves creating a small altar on the sandy foreshores of Thames (at low tide!), lighting candles, placing any bones we find nearby. Some silent pagan prayers, blessing, consecrations, and a small picnic (feasting with the dead!).. and returning the bones back to the river immediately. On occasions, we throw coins in to the river, symbolic of payment to the `Ferryman’ who (Greek mythology) ferries dead souls to the underworld, and requires a small fee.
