My thoughts on Doreen Virtue Denouncing New Age/magical path and becoming a Christian.
Am actually fine with this.. just proves my belief that none of us stand still.. and our spirituality must and often evolves.. We know many Christians who become pagan/ wiccan/ witches…so why not other way… where a pagan/ New age person becomes a Christian?
Back in my younger days in Sri Lanka, while being brought up as a Hindu, I was aware that many members of my family would go to Shiva & Kali temples..and also pop down to the local St.Anthony’s church nearby.
Zip forward 40 years later to my life in UK..as an initiated Witch/ Wiccan/ shamanic practitioner.. and I have openly stated many times.. that once in a while when the mood takes me..I do go to churches…not as spectator but actually to be there in a spiritual context..
Why?
The divine is always within us.. Gods & Goddesses.. all of them, in any shape or form. They are both within and without.. I grew up believing this.. after learning about the Hindu 10 incarnations/ Avatars of Lord Vishnu.
When the demon-king aggressively asks his religious son Prahalathan to show where his God Vishnu is..and asks if he’s in a pillar…Prahalad says yes. And when the demon strikes the pillar down, Lord Vishnu appears in the form of Narashimar – half man-half lion..and kills the Demon-king and frees the kingdom from his evil rulership.
Further more, as a Pagan, I believes that there are many shapes, forms and pathways to the divine.. and that divine can be reached by worshipping it in any God or Goddess form we feel we can connect with.
By this token, I readily accept that Christianity is a path to the divine too.. and Jesus is a god-form.
I have no conflict of spirituality here at all.
Getting back to Doreen Virtue becoming Christian-
The biggest issue is that when a public figure goes through a religious shift…everyone notices.. and the person will face a lot of pressure.. as expectations of others built on them crumble and projections people have on that person breaks.. It happens in relationships.. when one partner grows and changes.. and the other has difficulty accepting that change which can change the relationship or end it 
Many thousands of people are going to feel this projection-breaking regarding Doreen Virtue. As evident already, pagans and new agers will be upset…and some Christians will use this as proof and propaganda for the ways of Jesus and Christianity.
And then will come the greatest service Doreen Virtue will have done for them.. that those who followed her New Age teachings and ways will all question their own paths & beliefs on their own merits..rather than on the words of someone else.. And then the people will go forward with their own divine beliefs..
My only concern with the Doreen Virtue matter is that it was wrong of her to suggest that people should not use her new age books/ angel cards etc. She must trust (or rather we must trust) that at that time..she was a divine channel.. and those creations came through her to help others.. Now she’s a channel for another energy.. and others will benefit from her.. when the dust has settled on the sensationalism of this story.
A final thought ? Nothing remains the same..even remains change. Everything is cyclic. That’s why we pagans honour and celebrate the wheel of the year. And as some elders & teachers pass away (from our world) others will be growing in wisdom & divinity and become Teachers to fill those gaps. When one mighty Oak tree falls.. in its place a new sapling will grow to become another big Oak!
In the past year or so I have become aware of many of my spiritual friends having connections with Angels.. My sister’s own channelling abilities are growing.. and I myself have become drawn into work with Archangels..
In short -and in a tongue in cheek way, I’d say the angels are now talking to us now.. instead of with Doreen Virtue!

I tend to agree that spirituality is constantly evolving. The clear lines dividing religion and how people identify weren’t so in the past. Everyone did whatever.
My spirituality has taken me to many places.
What a great attitude. The path changes as we learn the lessons. That does not invalidate a path, it just proves that it has the ability to teach us.
