TARDIS Tales (1994): The Cyber-Head, Colin Baker (Doctor Who) and me

1994- There was that Science Fiction Convention called `Who7′ which celebrated BBC TV’s two famous serials – Doctor Who & Blakes-7.  The convention took place in South London area (Crystal Palace) in a Hotel.

For the competition, I submitted 3 pieces – a full spaceship `Liberator’ (from Blakes-7) made entirely of cardboard ..in every detail (measuring about 1 meter in length!), a piece of A2 art work (something to do with TARDISes.. that deserves a blog of its own :-), and of course the Cyberman head piece…made of light cardboard.

In the convention, I got to meet various actors & Actresses..   who have played characters such as `The Doctor’  (Collin Baker), Leela (Louise Jameson), Villa (Michael Keaton) and others..    Unfortunately many of the autographed items and my very expensive SLR zoom camera itself was stolen (people broke into hotel car park and took it. a week later police found my bag and water stained booklet ..but other stuff was never recovered).  I think I attended it with my cousin Suren and my younger sister Yalini.

And here’s the Victory Photo ..of me with my Cyberman mask that won first prize on stage..and the guy who gave me the prize – none other than Collin Baker – 6th Doctor (who) himself.

Ah!   Despite the car break in and loss, it still remains a good memory.
