It pleases me to announce our 3rd annual Celebration of The Night of the Cradle.   The `Birth of Goddess Isis’ ceremony  will take place on the New Moon (in watery sign of Cancer) on Thursday 16thJuly 2015. We gather by the banks of river Thames  for a special Ceremony in the evening…to mark the Night of the Cradle’ where Sky Goddess Nut gave birth to the Egyptian Goddess Isis.

-Meeting Details——————-

Date: Thursday 16th July 2015 .
Venue & time: Richmond (riverside) by the riverside passage/gate to Terrace Gardens (looks like a cave!).

Meet at Richmond station by 6.30pm and walk with me to the ritual spot (20 mins).  I will be prompt, and this `walking together’ is a symbolic and informal `procession’ part of the ceremony!

Or follow the google map and arrive at the ritual spot (Terrace Gardens area..but by the river) at 7pm onwards.

Google map link to ritual spot: https://goo.gl/maps/KKIHX

As this is a `Night of the Cradle- Birth of Isis’ , we are starting this ceremony later in the evening, so that we may perform the rite after sunset..(night). We’ll be using the `cave-like’ space by the riverside.. and will fix `stars’ on the ceilings .. to recreate a `body of the Sky Goddess Nuit’ (mother of Isis).

The ceremony itself is expected to be 30mins ..and then we’ll continue socials/ feasting.. (It’s a birthday party, after all). :-) So be sure to bring plenty of Wine & cakes.

Ceremony outline (subject to  changes) —————–

A decorative altar with Sky Goddess Nut and a concealed statue of Isis will be set up.

Element consecrations (incense, lantern, salt/water).

Isis called by her many names! This will be a chant led by Organisers.

Goddess Isis (statue) is revealed.

Milk & flower Ceremony – all bath statue in milk, followed by offering of flowers. These are then offered to the river Thames.

Food & drinks blessed and shared.

Birthday Party !! (Birthday of Isis).

PF London Lammas 2015 – indoor seasonal ritual facilitated by Herns Tribe

`Why do you come? To kill the King. Why? His blood feeds the land! ‘ And so begins many a traditional ceremony for Lammas.

The Hanged Man of Tarot – Odin’s sacrifice, the cutting down of Corn King, and the ritual suicide of Hern the Hunter all get played out one way or another in our lives. Join Hern’s Tribe on the eve of a Blue Moon, for resolving these painful cycles, and come together for a joyous celebration of Lammas – time of great Harvest and for reaping the rewards of your hard work. Bring your masks & drums and join in this tribal jollities.

Hern’s Tribe has facilitated several Open rituals for PF London in the past (between 2005- 2012). And we are thrilled to have been invited by PF London to facilitate this ritual. It’s a welcome return after a 3 year gap.

Dear all, this year’s PF-London conference has the theme of `Sacred Journey’..  and is taking place tomorrow (27th June 2015) from 10am till 10pm in London (Leystonstone area).  There are many and varied talks, workshops, festivities and such scheduled for this.  I will be attending, and hope to post a review/ photos afterwards.

Hindu-Magic. Mani Navasothy – Hindu & Wiccan High Priest – briefly talks about how both religions have woven together in his life, touch on the mysteries of Shivarathree & Navarathree, and shares his blend of Hindu-magical practises that you can use.

Some older attendees may remember, that I used to hold the position of `Events Organiser’ for PF London for some 7+ years and ran open rituals, annual Gaia Conventions  (see link below)) and Masked Balls etc..  I stepped down back in May 2012,  to pursue my own esoteric ventures (Publishing books, Gaian Times e-Magazine, Wicca & Witchcraft events etc).

Stonehenge Debate – Has it gone past the Fall-by Date?

Some sharp thoughts here… so be seated firmly.. :-)

Some years ago..after a visit to Stonehenge I was devastated by the rubbish & people standing on stones etc. My friends & I collected about 20 bags of rubbish ourselves that time.

Mani Navasothy at Stonehenge - for Summer Solstice 2015 (photo (c) MN)

I even went around so angry that I set about doing some `closing pentagrams’. Months later I realised the ego of my self.. and went again to do an open-pentagram at quarters. (for my own peace sake.if nothing else).

Am at a place in life right now..where ..while I do respect ancient things/ material things.. I also feel that none of it matters in a deeper sense of our spirituality. Mine is no longer so tied to material things..and I begin to see the magic that people add ..when they make much merriment at a place like this..

Preserving something that is falling apart by the passing of time amounts to a death/ decay cult..

Ancient man built whatever he / she could with whatever cutting edge technology he had;     Great!!

Humankind has so much technology NOW to erect / build such magnificent monuments & temples… of OUR times..  yet all we see are giant skyscrapers.. NO NEW magnificent Temples..    What does it say about us?   (0and a few thousand people pinning about stones that are past their fall-by-dates..  Those old decaying monuments are kept up by concrete & metal under it.. There is no undisturbed magical continuity.   Modern technology has already permeated and polluted it ..  ).

Sp I’d rather see mass merriment at stonehenge… let people experience it…let them drum, dance, smoke whatever, eat. let them enjoy it..

If the stones really are magical and powerful.. then they will do their magic on the people attending..and those people’s live be transformed..

And the stones will survive..   But if there is no magic in them…  then they are just old artefacts..art pieces …  magical husks..   What’s feeding them is the power of people who are dancing about them..  not the other way around..

So I say.. Let the stones fall.. grind to rubble and dust.. let stars and people burn and be ashes..

That is what every religion says..    They all say  reaching God/ Goddess is more important than worshipping material things.. (and stonehenge is a material thing…magnificent..but still a material thing.  The moss / lichen on it is not 100s of years old…  it’s organic..  it’s new growth..   just like every bits of the human body regenerates every 3-5 months..  There ae no 50 year old cells in the body of a 50 year old human!)

Nothing lasts forever…nothing should..   Only Souls & Spirits matter :-)

Bright Blessings

-Mani Navasothy

Free the Nipple – banned art work!

These exam pieces (art works) were apparently not allowed to be exhibited in a school.   Am not usually one to share stuff from facebook onto my blogs..but as an Artist, Magician, Radical, Magician…I feel this deserves attention. -Mani

Free the Nipple – Art work by Martha Armitage   (taken from her facebook wall).

Martha Armitage  says on her FB account:

“I CANNOT believe my paintings are not allowed to be displayed around my school as ‘it’s Ramandan and they involve breasts’. I’m disappointed in Tapton school. I believe the close bond breast feeding gives a mother and child should be celebrated and exposed to my school, not hidden away!! #freethenipple
